I just received my Cold Air Intake for my Mustang that I ordered a few days from American Muscle(great website and service btw). I ordered the BBK brand CAI for two reasons, one it was technically the cheapest by about $20 at the time of ordering and BBK also has a video on their website for installing the CAI on my 2005 series Mustang. Personally, I learn best through watching others versus reading or hearing, so the video installation series they have is great. Following the video, it took me no more then 30 minutes to install the BBK CAI. After installing the CAI my Mustang sounded a little bit louder, which is awesome.
I also took her for a drive for about 20 minutes just to make sure no warning lights would show up in my HUD. Thankfully none did and I actually noticed something different on the HUD. At first it was making me worry, but I later realized it was a benefit of the CAI. The meter that was different was the temperature meter. It was about 5 to 10 percent lower then normal. After a little while I realized that the CAI was actually cooling the engine itself. This was one thing that I did not expect out of the CAI. I got it because I wanted better air to be coming into the engine and for an ever-so-slightly better gas milage.
So the first step to working on my Mustang is done and it was really fun to be working on my baby.
