Just an update to what I am currently working on at the moment. I got a few Flash projects going on. The first is a Flash site for Redwagon Collective. At the moment, the site has a banner that was put together while the main site is being constructed. The second is a Flash site for AP Morgan Forbes, a client of Redwagon Collective. That site is almost complete and can be viewed here while it is being built. The last thing I am working on is a Flash based chat room that is proving somewhat difficult as it is requiring me to learn a little bit of PHP. Being a Flash guy and all I prefer to stay within the realm of ActionScript as much as I can but sometimes I have to venture out.
Lastly, as of this past July, I got the pleasure of being offered a part-time job working at the Apple Store and get to sell, what I consider, some of the greatest pieces of technology an individual or company can own. Since I got my first Mac 5 years ago, I have been an Apple fan and have been trying to sell Mac’s to friends and family members before even working for Apple. So as one could guess with that little bit of background history, I love being able to work at the Apple Store and introduce people to the world of Apple.

I have taken a huge step in my life today. I proposed to my girlfriend tonight. Her name is Eileen and she is the love of my life. She is wonderful and perfect for me in so many ways. Eileen is sweet, caring, and she complements me in so many ways. There is no way I could have found someone else that is so right for me in every way. My life just gets better and better all the time.

Well its been a long time since I have posted so I thought I would do some updates. Two months ago, I bought the new Macbook Pro and I love it. It has been nearly two years since I last had a laptop. I dont know how I managed without one when going to work or elsewhere without it. For the past four months or so now, I have been working on a new game in using Flash 9 and ActionScript 3. The main objective of the development of this game was to make it as dynamic as possible.
To work toward achieving that goal, I have, for example, one function for creating all the lasers that can be fired. I pass around 12 different parameters to determain the color, size, speed, direction, etc for each laser created. The lasers themselves are being created just with code, so I have next to no actual assets outside the menu. I still have about another month or two before I actually finish it, but its coming along well. It has been quite a learning process throughout the whole thing. At first it was pretty slow with all the visual effects I have going on, but I kept on finding new ways to do everything to make it more efficient on the cpu. So I have seen it go from really slow, to really fast even on older machines. I’m quite proud of it so far.

I picked up the Transformers Novelization of the movie the other day and read it over the course of a couple of days. I must say that I am very happy with the story and how events take place. The character development, I think is great and a lot of other little details for those who would question the “reality” of the story. This next few sentences might be considered a spoiler to some, so I warned you.
For example, one might ask how the Transformers can speak English and talk to the people of Earth. To answer that, all the Transformers basically download the entire internet and every media possible to “learn” languages. Something else I thought was great is relationship between main human character(played by Shia LaBeouf) and Bumblebee. In the movie, Bumblebee is a mute from a previous battle not shown in the movie, so he communicate with Sam Witwicky(Shia LaBeouf) by playing music through the radio to express what he is thinking or feeling.
The only thing I didn’t like about the book is how the author wrote it. Here is the problem I had with author. When you are reading about a certain character(s) in a specific location and then in the next paragraph you start reading about a different character(s) and a different location, typically that break in characters and location is separated visibly by three centered dots or some other method to indicate that the next paragraph does not deal with the same setting as the last paragraph you read.
This author does not do that and I would get confused sometimes by this instant change from one paragraph to the next with no indication of such change in the setting. He wouldn’t even do a line break separation. I would have to say that this is the first time I haven’t fully enjoyed reading a book and I would also say its my first pet peeve when it comes to reading a novel. But with all that negative thoughts aside, it is still a good story and I hope that the movie can convey the same feelings.
