New Image Gallery

Flash Comments Off

I just finished some freelance work for a client of Ripe.com. Its a full browser image gallery that is populated by an XML document. After finishing it to their requirements, I continued to work on it some to add a little bit more to the animation side of it and allow for larger images. Based on the clients specs, there would never be an image taller then 460 pixels, but I wanted to make it so I could have any size image in the gallery and it still be horizontally centered content. The new gallery can be viewed here.

I have started to get my first set of Flash Video Tutorials up and available for viewing. More to come later on.

I am currently taking a break from my Armada Flash game and working on some Flash video tutorials. The idea behind these tutorials are for those who already have a basic understanding of ActionScript 3.0 and want to learn how to do more. I’m currently working on the interface at the moment and getting the development side done. So at the moment you can see all the videos I have planned to make.

Well its been a long time since I have posted so I thought I would do some updates. Two months ago, I bought the new Macbook Pro and I love it. It has been nearly two years since I last had a laptop. I dont know how I managed without one when going to work or elsewhere without it. For the past four months or so now, I have been working on a new game in using Flash 9 and ActionScript 3. The main objective of the development of this game was to make it as dynamic as possible.

After it being out for many, many months for Flash, I finally decided to start learning some ActionScript 3.0 and convert. The reason I haven’t done so before now I didn’t think it would catch on because of the complexity of it in comparison to AS2.0, but I was wrong on many levels. I also thought it would be difficult to change over with the number of changes involved, but it has actually been a whole lot easier then I thought it would be. I am enjoying working in it so far with a little bump in the road here and there while having to unlearn a few AS2.0 methods.
