Elgato Systems has recently released Turbo.264, its h.264 hardware video encoder accessory for Mac computers. Some may be asking why should I buy a video encoder when my Mac can already encode videos with h.264? Well, whenever you use Quicktime, for example, to encode a video, it is using the Quicktime software and your processor to render out and encode the video. When videos are being encoded it pretty much uses 100% of your processors power, leaving you with next to no room to do anything else(browse the internet, listen to music, etc).

The Final Cut Studio 2 suite, which was first announced at this years NAB event, is now shipping for consumers and corporations.

Let me start by saying when I first heard rumors about 2 years ago of a live action Transformers movie being in the works, I was a little bit skeptical. But after seeing the newest trailer for the movie, I can’t help but be excited and I can’t wait for the movie to come out. So here is the link to enjoy this new Transformers trailer goodness. So I have been trying out Windows Vista Ultimate for about a month now, and I have to say, like XP, it takes some getting used to but you eventually warm up to it. But for me to warm up to it, I had to do a good bit of customization. Some of those things included turning off that f***ing pop-up security message every time you doing a system change of some sort or installing an application. After you turn off the UAC security, you have to disable Windows warning messages that appear in in the Start Menu bar by the clock. If you don’t you will have a constant message basically saying that your security sucks and you need to fix it.

Well, it has been confirmed by Apple that sometime this year that they are going to be switching out the old laptop displays with LED back lighting. What does this mean exactly? Many things. Back lit LED displays consume far less power so your battery will last longer. They are also much brighter and have more vivid colors, while still using less power overall. So thats something to look forward to when the MacBook Pro series laptops are updated.
